Our Ultimate Overnight Kenai Fjords Kayaking trip features full days in the park, evenings spent around a fire or relaxing in your tent enjoying the rich views. Our overnights are unique, specially designed for every clientele group, and facilitated by our very own fleet of marine assets.

The best way to explore Kenai Fjords National Park

Explore the Holgate Glacier, Aialik Glacier, and Pederson Lagoon area where we see the magnificent calving events, icebergs, pupping harbor seals, black bears and more. Our overnight trips can be led light and fast, allowing for different camping locations throughout a multi-day experience, or via a base camp. We routinely visit and camp at a variety of locations throughout Aialik Bay, covering as much ground as the group desires during each expedition.

Customized Tours for Every Group

Our team of guides will prepare your meals and work to customize your trip to maximize your experience. Enjoy exploring, taking photos, hiking, or paddling all while following the rules and ethics established by the National Park. This area prescribes to Leave No Trace wilderness ethics, and we make every effort to do exactly that.  Kayak guides are trained in assisted rescue techniques, the areas of natural history, and have their wilderness first responder certification to keep you safe in this stunning backcountry environment.

DIFFICULTY

This kayak trip takes place on calm waters in a protected bay. Be ready to kayak anywhere from 8 to 15 miles a day, with some additional beachcombing or hiking as well.

Our trips are customized, so if you need more or less time on the water, let us know! You will fill out a quick survey after you book the trip which lets us know all about you and your group so we can provide the best experience.

THE WATER TAXI

We utilize our own private 36-foot landing craft that can carry up to 24 passengers. With a 5-star safety rating and music, a heated cabin, windows for viewing the landscape or wildlife, and comfortable seating.

The water taxi ride generally takes 1.5 to 2 hours depending on weather, tides, and if we see any wildlife. While the water is usually calm, it can sometimes get bumpy if weather comes in. We do our best to make the ride comfortable, but we can’t control the weather!

KAYAK CAMP WITH US!

Miller’s Landing owns its own fleet of water taxi vessels and has been operating in Kenai Fjords National Park for 40+ years. As a result, we deliver some of the best as well as safest trips. In the unlikely case of an emergency, we are uniquely positioned to establish prompt and unplanned egress from even the remoteness of the fjords.

Our trips are also all customized to fit your group’s needs. Fill out a survey after you book your spot, and your guide will take care of the rest!

Sit back, relax, and let us cover all the details. Our gear is well cared for, safe, and well-maintained. We put a lot of time into picking our gear so it not only lasts but can carry our guests through any adventure safely and comfortably.

TIPS FOR A GREAT TRIP

Be sure to pack comfortable shoes that could get wet, extra socks, and plenty of good layers. There is plenty of storage in the boats for spare clothes, and other items.

We provide you a 25 oz dry bag for your clothes, and an additional bag for on top of the kayak for items like hats, cameras or phones. For longer trips, we can provide you with more dry bags. Ask you guide about additional bags if you think you need one. Reach out if you have questions about gear.

Bringing a Camera? We use sit-in kayaks for this trip, you can have your camera around your neck or in a dry bag. If you are bringing expensive camera gear, consider your own new drybag or a small dry box.
