Adventure Class & Gold Star Class Fares*

*What is the difference between the Adventure and GoldStar service?

Adventure class passengers are seated on the first level of the train. They have access to a vista dome car, but there is no assigned seating in that dome. Passengers may visit the vista dome car for about 20 minutes at a time, to allow other passengers to sit in the dome. Adventure class passengers may walk through all of the Adventure cars, but may not enter the GoldStar dome.

Passengers that purchase the GoldStar upgrade receive priority check-in at select depots and are seated on the second level of our two-story fully-domed car. GoldStar passengers will ride in the newest and most luxurious, double-decked dome cars on the train. These cars are positioned near the front of the train with the best views from the upper-level outdoor viewing platform.

This is the only railcar ever built with an upper-level outdoor deck. GoldStar passengers receive complimentary non-alcoholic beverages throughout the trip and may purchase beer, wine, and spirits at the private bar located on the upper level of the GoldStar car. GoldStar passengers also have access to an open-air, glass-roofed, viewing deck on the upper level to the rear of the car, and have priority seating in the dining car which is located directly below them on the first level. GoldStar passengers may walk through all of the Alaska Railroad cars and have access to the Adventure class dining area.

Peering out of the Alaska TrainGoldStar Service features:

  • Confirmed seat in the upper-level dome car
  • Complimentary coffee, soda, or tea served at your seat
  • Priority seating in the lower-level dining room showcasing original Alaska artwork
  • Private outdoor viewing deck – the only one of its kind
  • Dine in comfort in 36 dining room seats with views through picture windows.
  • Your dome-level reclining seats can rotate to accommodate groups of four and let you share the experience with friends.
  • A full-time bar attendant is available to those looking for libations.

All of our activities are possible during rain, so rain does not constitute a cancellation. Miller's Landing is not responsible for vehicle break downs, personal emergencies, flight delays, health issues or other unforeseen hardships. We will try very hard to work with you but the cancellation policy will need to be applied if we cannot issue a raincheck or find an alternative solution that appeals to both parties. Please understand that Miller's Landing also incurs a hefty financial merchant fee from our bank for the cost of charging your credit card and again for the cost of refunding it, and there is also a cost involved for the time involved in processing and refunding your reservation in employee costs. Our goal when taking your reservation is to have a solid, guaranteed prepaid reservation. We strongly discourage the practice of making reservations without having an airline ticket or making tentative reservations. Thank you for your understanding.
