3 Days, 2 Nights
Kayak, Yoga, & Meditation

“The air is so clear in the North that one new to it is lost in the crowding of great heights and spaces. Distant peaks had risen over the lower mountains of the shore astern. Steep spruce-clad slopes confronted us.  All around us was the wilderness, a no-man’s-land of mountains or of cragged islands, and southward the wide, the limitless, Pacific Ocean.” -Rockwell Kent, Wilderness, A Journal of Quiet Adventure in Alaska

Four yoga and meditation classes per day taught by two teachers trained in India, with hostel-style accommodations at Kayakers Cove Wilderness Lodge. The serene retreat also includes hiking and kayaking. The retreat spans three days and two nights.

Yoga is for everyone! Beginners are encouraged and welcome.

Overview: 9:30 a.m. water taxi to Kayakers Cove Wilderness Lodge for yoga and meditation all day (four classes, three teachers) and hiking or kayaking each day. Return at 5 p.m. to Miller’s Landing by water taxi on the third day. All meals and yoga mat provided.

Yoga styles taught:
Vinyasa flow: This style of yoga is dedicated to movement. You learn how to link your body movement and posture transitions with the natural flow of breath. These classes carry the potential to be as physically challenging as you choose.

Gentle yoga: The yoga of calmness and deep relaxation.

Yogic meditation with philosophical discussion: Extended, quiet, seated meditation followed by group discussion of our experience of meditation and the main philosophical text of yoga, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.

Enjoy the serenity of Resurrection Bay while you sleep in your lodge accommodations!  Each day of the retreat, you engage in four yoga/meditation classes per day, both indoors and outdoors, as well as explore Resurrection Bay by kayak or foot!
