Want to do a little of the BEST Alaska has to offer? Fish -  Glacier Kayak - Sight See in our day trip!

 Take our full day charter and water taxi boats out to Northwestern Fjord or Aialik Bay (captain's choice) for 4 hours of fully guided paddling in front of the calving tidewater glaciers.  Get picked up and eat lunch while the crew takes you to target Silver Salmon and Rock Fish on the way home! Sight see the entire time in the Kenai Fjords National Park for Whales, Sea Lion, Puffins, and more!

Trips running Tuesdays and Wednesdays (Charter Halibut Fishing Closure Days) Larger group trips may be available on other days of the week please inquire!

Please note: No Halibut may be targeted or retained on these trips as per state and federal law, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are, at this time, closed for the retention of Halibut.

Enjoy a 4 hour paddle in Aialik Bay or Northwestern Fjord at one of the many amazing tidewater glaciers, and 4 hours of sport fishing on the way home for Salmon & Rock Fish. If you've only got one day to spend in Seward and want to do it up, this is the trip for you!

Our custom built boats make this a possibility -

Able to land on remote beaches as well as allowing us to store the our kayaks above the cabin and open up the deck for fishing! 

The Aialik Bay area is located within the Kenai Fjords National Park 

Group sizes are limited to 6 kayakers per guide, with a total group size in the park not exceeding 14 total persons. Visitors must adhere to Leave No Trace wilderness ethics.  Aialik is home to 3 large glaciers accessible by kayak: Aialik being the largest, Holgate the second largest, and Pedersen the third largest (and a piedmont glacier).  The area is rife with wildlife of all kinds - it is common to see Black Bears, Harbor Seals, Whales, Sea Otter, Porpoise and so much more while in the kayak or on the boat ride in and out.

  • No experience necessary: Fishing Tutorial, Tackle, Bait, Fish Cleaning, and Guide are provided, all Kayaking Equipment and Guide are provided, Lunch is provided.  Dress in layers!


  • We will Depart Miller's Landing at 6AM, fully loaded with kayaks and bait!


  • The Thomas Sea, Michael A, or the Fox Willie will venture 2 hours to Aialik Bay where the Captain will drop you and a guide at Northwestern, Holgate, Aialik or (if the tide is just right) Pedersen Lagoon.


  • Landing around 8-8:30AM depending on sightseeing time View Whales, Porpoise, Sea Lion and more on the way! Your kayaking trip will begin shortly after disembarking


  • Your guide will show you to Holgate Glacier, Aialik Glacier, or the Northwestern Glaciers over the next 4 hours in your kayaks.

  • 12 Noon we're back on the boat after working up apetites, lunch will be offered to the group while the captain manages navigating through the ice filled fjords towards the fishing grounds.


  • Fish until 4-4:30 when the crew will call for lines up, and return back to the Landing to hang and fillet your catch! (We may be able to filet on the way home if you need to get moving right away!)


  • Trips are back at the dock between 5:15-6:00PM depending on weather and fishing success.


  • Catch Silver Salmon (in season June 18-Sept 5th), Black Sea Bass, Yellow Eye, and sometimes Ling Cod (after July 1st)

  • Limits of Silver Salmon are 6 per person inside the bay (North of Cape Aialik and Cape Resurrection) 3 per person outside the bay
  • Limits of Rockfish are 4 per person, 1 of which can be a Yellow Eye!
  • Limits of Ling Cod are 1 per person, must be over 35" and must be caught within certain regions 

The glaciers are huge! Spend 4 hours paddling right in front of some of the largest glaciers in the park!

  Fishing licenses are not provided but can be purchsed online or at the Miller's Landing Store prior to departure or even days before the trip. While we do hang your catch for photos back home and filet as part of the trip, we do not have a fish freezing and packaging facility on site - there are a few excellent options in town and will pack your fish for shipment either via plane or fed ex - just check out our page on processing fish here!


Cancellation Policy:

  • A $10 cancellation fee is imposed for all reservations cancelled.
  • Cancellations must be received by email only to The cancellation notice date is the date the email was received at  Phone cancellations will not be accepted.
  • Cancellations received by email 30 days prior to the first day of the reservation are charged a $10 cancellation fee and you will receive a refund of 90% of the total amount of the reservation.
  • Cancellations received by email 15 to 29  days prior to the first day of the reservation are charged a $10 cancellation charge and you will receive a 75% refund. of the total amount of the reservation.  
  • Cancellations received by email 14 days to zero days prior to arrival are charged a $10 cancellation fee and you will receive a 50% refund only if we are able to rebook  your camping, cabin, fishing, kayaking, watertaxi, shuttle, lunch, or activity. If we are not able to rebook your reservation then no refunds will be issued and. You must call or e-mail Miller's Landing post date of cancelled stay in order for us to research whether or not your site booked. Sites that were booked of course qualify for the 50% refund, sites that were not unfortunately do not. 
  • A 100% refund will be issued for any activity that was cancelled due to weather by Miller's Landing. Miller's Landing reserves the right to determine weather cancellations. Rain does not constitute cancellations.

Please note:  Miller's Landing encourages only guaranteed prepaid reservations. Unlike many other states, Alaska has  a very short tourist season which can make it  difficult for us to rebook when we have cancellations without ample notice.  

If you are booking a charter and lodging and your charter , water taxi or kayaking is cancelled due to weather you are still responsible for the lodging or camping reservations and the normal cancellation policy applies. All of our activities are possible during rain, so rain does not constitute a cancellation.  Miller's Landing is not responsible for vehicle break downs, personal emergencies, flight delays,  health issues or other unforeseen hardships. 

Please understand that Miller's Landing also incurs a hefty financial merchant fee from our bank  for the cost of charging your credit card and again for the cost of refunding it, and there is also a cost involved for the time involved in processing and refunding your reservation in employee costs. Our goal when taking your reservation is to have a solid, guaranteed prepaid reservation. We strongly discourage the practice of making reservations without having an airline ticket or making tentative reservations.  Thank you for your understanding.
