Water Taxi Services: General
Information
Best Water Taxi Prices in Seward!
**If you find a better water taxi rate then ours, we will match
it**
One
of our most popular services at Miller’s Landing is our water
taxi service. Water taxis are inexpensive, and are a great way to go
camping, kayaking, fishing, hiking or sightseeing to remote areas only
accessible by water.
We offer water taxi service to all
points in Resurrection Bay and the Kenai Fjords National Park using
large safe boats with enclosed cabins and U.S. Coast Guard licensed
operators. Our vessels have heated cabins and plenty of room to haul
kayaks, camping gear, mountain bikes and backpacks and can take up to 16
passengers at one time. We also occasionally use a big open skiff for
short runs. Miller’s Landing staff can assist you in planning the ideal
water taxi destination for your group.
Calendar
To
give our customers a better idea on when we are going out to LaTouche
Island, Aialik Bay and Northwestern Fjord here our is our calendar.
All
trips originate at Miller’s Landing
on Lowell Point. Of course, pets are welcome also, at no additional
charge. We can drop you off almost anywhere, at hiking trail heads,
camping spots, fishing streams, State or National Park cabins, good
kayaking areas, and pick you up at a prearranged location and time.
You
can stay one or two hours, all day, overnight, or several days. We have
single and double kayaks available to rent and can arrange a special
guided kayaking trip custom designed for your group, to a water taxi
destination of your choice. Round trip water taxi to most points within
Resurrection Bay runs from $35 to $55. Check out our list of popular
destinations with descriptions of what’s available for more information!
Seward: Miller's Landing: "Competent and
safe"
Date: August 14, 2003
Reviewer: A TripAdvisor User, Seward AK
I haven't stayed at their cabins, though they seem comfortable,
but I have used their water taxi extensively for two summers to
get to an archaeological excavation in Kenai Fjords National
Park. The captain of the Michael A (a water taxi) Sherri Miller,
has a nice, calm demeanor, and her competence is obvious after
five minutes on the water. No machismo, no bluster, just a sense
of the water and the limits of her boat and what conditions are
safe. She knows when to turn around. She keeps track of all the
details and is genuinely concerned for the her clients,
especially if weather has prevented her from picking them up at
the anticipated time. She is thorough and helpful. Miller's
Landing is as close as you'll get to the proverbial "Real
Alaska". Its a family run business. All the accoutrements like
signs and boardwalks and nightly events are homey and hand-made.
When its raining, you can hang out in the lodge where endless
coffee is available. When the weather is good, you can kayak or
walk the trails or fish. Nice place. Nice folks.

Water Taxi Schedule and Rates

Water Taxi Departure Times |
|
Departures are from Lowell Point
and leave approximately every hour. There are three
water taxi vessels: One is the large water taxi vessel
“Michael A” which is a 36 foot landing craft, carrying
16 passengers. It exceeds the 5 star safety rating
(highest rating available) and has music, full
electronics, a heated cabin, comfortable seating and
large windows for wildlife viewing. The “Michael A.”
services Resurrection Bay, Day Harbor, Nuka Bay area,
Kenai Fjords National Park, Aialik Bay, Northwestern
Fjord, and the Nuka Bay areas. We sometimes will do
custom trips to the Prince William Sound areas as well.
The second vessel is a smaller water taxi vessel doing
transports in an open-aired 24 foot skiff, and carries
six passengers. This water taxi services Resurrection
Bay area only. Lastly we also have the Weather Or Knot
available every day assisting with Kenai Fjords National
Park, Day Harbor, Nuka Bay area and Prince William Sound
areas.
Salty Water Taxi:
our 6 passenger Salty Water Taxi is available for
unscheduled or after hours trips at the Captain’s
discretion for an additional fee of $15 per person
additional charge and a two person minimum.
*NOTE:
Times noted in
RED
are on the Salty Water Taxi. The times noted in
BLUE
are on the larger Michael A. Water taxi vessel.
*Note:
5 PM taxi on Michael A is normally used for evening
fishing trips or wildlife/sightseeing charters or custom
charters. For more information on fishing charters in
the evening, please see our fishing section of the
website.
Departures may leave from
either Miller's Landing or the Lowell Point State Park
Recreational Area. Please contact Miller's Landing for
departure locations for specific dates and times.
Please plan to be ready 30 minutes prior to departure.
The water taxi will not be able to wait for you if you
are not ready to go at the time of departure and you
will need to be rescheduled to the next available time.
Most water taxi times include guided kayaking paddles
that are on a timed schedule and delays will cause the
schedule to be offset for the rest of the day, so we
must leave on time. Please allow time for parking,
registering for water taxi, loading and transporting
gear to the water taxi loading area; using restroom,
etc. On low tide times we will be loading/offloading
from the south beach area of Lowell Point, which may
require more time than 30 minutes for parking
arrangements, loading, etc. Please take this into
consideration. If you are renting a kayak from us for
your water taxi trip, please allow extra time for the
kayak rental procedure and check out procedure. |
