Full Day Wildlife and Glacier
Tours On the Larger Tour Boats
from Seward Alaska
About The Larger Tour boats
The larger
tour boats are 85 foot to 115 foot boats custom sightseeing
vessels that have multi-level walk around viewing decks as well as warm
inside seating, both affording you a great view.. They usually hold
around 150 passengers at a time. They are very stable, secure boats and
are often preferred over the smaller boats for those who tend to get
seasick because the larger boats to not tend to be affected as much by
the swells as the smaller boats are.
Comparing the Two Main Larger Tour boat Companies to
Find the Right Tour:
The two main
companies listed here are Kenai Fjords Tour Company and Major
Marine Tour Company. The main difference between the two companies is
that Major Marine Tours offers an "All You Can Eat Prime Rib and Salmon
Buffet" on board, has reserved seating; and also has a Park Ranger
narrating the cruise. Major Marine Tours has one full day tour a day
going out daily at 12:45. Kenai Fjord Tours has 5 different times that
they leave on various full day tours and also provides a choice of
stopping at their Wilderness Lodge on Fox Island for a grilled salmon
bake meal or not getting off the boat and being served a deli style
lunch on board . Kenai Fjords Tours also offers a Northwestern Fjord
Tour which goes to 5 tidewater glaciers in the Northwestern Fjords.
Another
full day tour alternative is the Small Boat Alternative.
These boats are 43 foot boats that take 16 to 22 passengers at a time
and also go to the calving glaciers, some going to Northwestern Fjord as
well. They are ideal for those not prone to sea sickness and those who
want a more personalized, private tour. To see these tours please go to
that section of the wildlife/glacier tour of our website.
What You Will See On The Cruise: On
