 Your real Alaskan adventure begins with a two-mile dog sled ride. Feel
the power, excitement, and energy of our amazing sled dogs as they are
harnessed to our comfortable wheeled sleds. The intrigue of the Iditarod
Trail Sled Dog Race comes alive as you mush through the Alaskan
wilderness to the base of Resurrection Mountain and along Box Canyon
Creek.
Upon return to the dog yard, tour our beautiful kennel facilities,
laugh as a volunteer is dressed up as an Iditarod musher, and cuddle
adorable husky puppies.
Our guides are all Iditarod racers, and
offer a delightful, humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the Seavey
family training for the most demanding race on earth. Guaranteed to
be one of the highlights of your vacation, this tour was chosen as
one of Alaska's Top Twenty Attractions, and is a must-do for all
visitors to the Greatland.

This full day package features the attractions that truly make Alaska
the Greatland! First, take in the fascinating history and breathtaking
beauty as your guide shows you the sights of Seward. Experience the
unique local color of "Alaska's Little Switzerland" and learn why Seward
was known as the Gateway to Alaska and Mile 0 of the Iditarod Trail. See
first-hand the effects of the 1964 Earthquake and stand in awe of the
mountain that is home to the second oldest foot race in the United
States.
Then, head out to Exit Glacier, a major attraction of Kenai Fjords
National Park. Enjoy a short walk along the nature trail that takes you
to the face of the glacial ice. Watch for mountain goats, moose or bear
on the mountainside. During runs, see salmon swimming upstream to spawn.
A hearty lunch will be served at nearby Resurrection Roadhouse before
you enjoy IdidaRide's 1½ hour Wilderness Sled Dog Ride and Tour (see
tour above). At the end of the day, your driver will return you to your hotel, ship
or the Alaska Railroad depot.

The Wilderness Sled Dog Ride and Tour is perfect
for guests of all ages and abilities. We are proud to be accommodating
and accessible to our mobility-impaired guests. Round trip and one-way transportation to
and from Anchorage is available via rail. The Real Alaska Tour is an
excellent transfer option for cruise ship passengers. |
Please dress appropriately
with warm water resistant coats, hats, gloves and
protective footgear. Don't forget sunglasses, cameras
and binoculars. We do provide extra gear if needed.
Flight times and routes vary depending on weather or
other safety concerns.
Cancellation Policy: Full refund if cancelled
because of weather; 95% refund if a tour is cancelled 30 or more
days prior to tour; 80% refund if a tour is cancelled 15
days prior to tour. No refund if cancelled within 15 days prior to tour. |

Anchorage. It has towering mountains that show off Alaska's beauty and
wonder. Wildlife is all around Seward and Resurrection Bay ranging form
majestic Bald Eagles all the way to the gentle Orcas that live in the
bay and surrounding areas in the Gulf of Alaska. |

The historic glaciers and natural beauty will
provide memories that will last a lifetime! Godwin
Glacier Dogsled Tours Musher's and their dog teams
will help make your trip worth every penny. They give
instructions on how to mush your own dog-team. You can
see wildlife such as: bear, moose, and Dall sheep.
What to bring? You should bring jackets or warm
layers of clothes, hats, gloves, waterproof boots, your
camera and tons of energy to go explore the wonder and
beauty of Alaska's pristine wilderness. The guides are
experienced and show you all they can during the time
you are with them and make it a unique, unforgettable
way to experience "The Last Frontier!
Godwin Glacier- $95
Depart Pollux base at the Seward airport and go across
Resurrection Bay and view knife-edged ridges and
spectacular ice-falls. You will than pass over Godwin
Glacier and look down on the Iditarod Teams.
Bear Glacier- $189
Fly up Old Exit Glacier and take a left to meet up with
Harding Ice field, which is the largest ice field in the
United States birthing up to 40 glaciers. Than you will
head behind Marathon Mountain to the top of Bear Glacier
and descend to Resurrection Bay to fly-by Seward harbor.
Resurrection Bay- $189
Rugged Island is the first destination to try to catch a
glimpse of the whales and other sea life creatures.
Followed by Mary's Bay and along Bear Glacier and be
ready to be amazed by calving glacier chunks! Before
going back to base you will do a fly-by of downtown
Seward.
Kruzin Kenai- $269
For those that are interested in viewing trees and
rugged mountains that this is the trip to be on. Flying
over Kenai Lake and down Old Exit Glacier viewing lakes,
rivers, valleys and a variety of wildlife!
Ultimate Tour- $269
This is the "Grand Daddy" of them all! This tour is over
ocean and the astounding Fjords and you will see
what makes Alaska, "The Last Frontier"! You will fly out
toward the Gulf of Alaska through Resurrection Bay where
you can be on the look out for whales and other marine
wildlife. Round the corner of Cape Resurrection and down
to Day Harbor to Elsworth Lake and Elsworth Glacier.
Hook around the South Fork Snow River, there you can
view Dall sheep in their natural habitat along the 5,000
foot walls on either side of the helicopter. Finally
coming back to base past Tiehacker Mountain and over
Bear Lake.
Harding Ice Field- $339
This tour is a journey in itself viewing the Harding
Icefield and Aialik Glacier enroute to Aialik Bay. You
may have the opportunity to see a calving glacier,
breeching whales, mountain goats, black bears and marine
wildlife. Memorable views will take your breath away as
you look over Resurrection Bay. The Harding Icefield
covers over 300 square miles alone and upwards of 1,100
square miles if you count the surface area of all 40 of
the glaciers that it spawns. On the return to base you
will see the most beautiful areas Alaska has to offer
over Aialik Glacier and Aialik Bay.
Looking for the hike of a lifetime?- $299
We'll drop you off for a once-in-a-lifetime hike around
Godwin Glacier. You have the opportunity to meet our dog
mushing team and why they enjoy living on the Glacier.
You can hike around the glacier and enjoy the majestic
views. The tour includes a private helicopter flight
from Seward to Godwin Glacier, leisurely hike around it
and view the sights and sounds of the Glacier offers.
Tour lasts 1.5 hours, which is 30 minutes in-flight and
1 hour on the Glacier.
Terms and
Conditions:
2 person minimum charge on all tours or scenic
flights
300 lb maximum seat limit per person. Passengers
weighing over 250 lbs are assessed a surcharge as
outlined below.
All passengers must sign a liability release prior
to departing for any tour or scenic flight.
The rates on this website do not reflect taxes or
gratuities. Pollux Aviation Ltd. reserves the right
to adjust the rates, routes, details, and locations
of all tours and information contained on this site
at anytime without notification. Weather or other
unforeseen events may cause delays or cancellations
to the scheduled tour. If we can not provide the
same tour we may provide a similar tour at a reduced
rate. If there are no other options available for
the current conditions we will honor a full refund
of the scheduled tour cost and applicable local
taxes.
Due to weight and balance requirements of the
helicopter, passengers weighing over 250 pounds will
be assessed a surcharge at 50% of the tour price.
Rising fuel prices may mandate an additional fuel
surcharge. If a tour is pre-booked you will only be
required to pay the amount of the tour as advertised
at the time of the booking.
Deposit and cancellation policy: We
recommend that all tours are booked as far in
advance as possible to ensure that the desired time
slot is available. A 50% deposit is required at the
time of booking the tour and full payment is
required 30 days prior to the scheduled tour date.
If tours are booked less than 30 days prior to the
scheduled tour date full payment is required at the
time the tour is booked. Tours cancelled 30 or more
days prior to the scheduled tour date will receive a
full refund of the tour cost and applicable taxes.
Tours cancelled 15-30 days prior to the scheduled
tour date will incur a 50% re-booking fee. Tours
cancelled 14 or less days prior to the scheduled
tour date are non-refundable.
