This is our ultimate overnight trip
and goes to the heart of the beautiful pristine waters of the Kenai
Fjords National Park. We hop aboard the "Michael A", our custom built 14
passenger charter boat, and take a 2 hour ride through the Fjords to
Holgate Bay. On the taxi, we usually see sea otters, porpoise, sea
lions, eagles, and often whales as well as puffins and an abundance of sea birds. |
We will paddle around the
Holgate Glacier, Aialik Glacier, and Pederson Bay area where we see the
magnificent calving glaciers, icebergs, seals, and more wildlife... You
will be amazed at the breathtaking beauty of this area, there is nothing
like it and this is world class kayaking at it's best.
Our kayak guides
will prepare meals for you and customize your trip exploring all the
various nooks and crannies of beautiful Aialik Bay. There is a lot of
area to explore and we recommend a 3 day stay if at all possible. Spend
the day with your guide, paddling, hiking and exploring!
Relax in the
evening around a comfortable campfire, taking in the breathtaking beauty
of the fjords and the wildlife all around you! This is where we will set
up our camp and fall asleep to the sound of gentle waves lapping the
shore and the unique sounds of the glacier calving...
Heading back, on
the "Michael A." we enjoy sightseeing on the water taxi in the heart of
the Kenai Fjords National Park watching for seals, bird rookeries, sea
lions, whales, and more... It doesn't get any better than this!

Hop aboard the Michael A water taxi at Lowell Point and
we will take you through beautiful Resurrection Bay to the quiet waters
of Kayaker's Cove and the Kayaker's Cove Hostel. This is a wonderfully
beautiful and serene cove, where kayakers often gather. |

There is a
community kitchen, which your kayak guide chef will use to prepare
delicious meals for you. You will paddle one day around Fox Island,
exploring sea caves, ghost forests, beautiful towering mountains and
cliffs, and observe puffins, sea otters, sea lions, eagles and hopefully
whales too! You'll spend the night at Kayaker's Cove, enjoying the
scenery and the other kayakers who have come to rest and relax.
Kayaker's Cove Hostel is "camping style"
- you
camp on sleeping pads in sleeping bags in an open area up in the loft.
There is one private cabin there that we can sometimes rent, that sleeps
up to four (add $40 for the cabin per night). In the morning, you'll
enjoy breakfast and then paddle from Kayaker's Cove to beautiful Humpy
Cove, watching for wildlife as you go.
Your paddle will end in the calm
waters of Thumb Cove, where you will see 3 piedmont glaciers and can
experience world-class blueberry picking (in season). There is a salmon
stream there as well, which usually has several resident eagles lurking
for salmon! You will stop along the way for a relaxing lunch break.
Thumb Cove is breathtakingly beautiful, and it is usually easy to
observe wildlife there: sea lions feeding on salmon, bald eagles flying
overhead.... What fun! Includes lodging, water taxi, meals, kayak and guide
