Current CPR and First Aid certification Pre-employment drug test and
enrollment in Maritime Consortium random drug test program by Miller's
Landing (cost of pre-employment drug test is paid by employee)
Fishing deckhand - Current year Alaska sport fishing license
Become familiar with electronics, marine radio procedures, local
weather
Be able to help with regular scheduled maintenance on vessels and
emergency repairs while underway
Be able to work fast in an emergency and knowledgeable in
rescue/towing techniques
Must be knowledgeable about refueling
Must keep a good watch of marine traffic and navigational hazards.
Must be able to give safety presentation to clients, and keep a sharp
eye for safety hazards. |

Be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 100 lbs or more
Be able to work on the ocean without getting sea-sick
Be willing to work long hours and any days scheduled
Be able to fillet fish or be willing to learn
Be able to drive skiff/outboard/tender as needed
Become knowledgeable on history of Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords
National Park
Become familiar with marine wildlife and habitat, to include whales,
birds, sea lions, sea otters, eagles, etc. Work with, entertain, instruct
and converse with people from varied walks of life
Must be willing/able to participate in all drills |
